Advanced EMT (AEMT)

Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT) have more training than an EMT but less than a Paramedic. This course teaches students how to work on an ambulance, start IVs, use advanced airway management techniques, such as intubation, and provide advanced cardiac medications.

Students who successfully meet all of the graduation requirements will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to take the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) Advanced EMT exam. Once certified by the NREMT, students are eligible to apply to the State of Texas and receive their State of Texas AEMT certification.  This course is intended to allow a student to enter a bridge paramedic course, P2.
